My Journey
My journey with fluid art began at a time when I was in my most vulnerable state of mind; and I was uncertain about my future.
Once a soulful singer who thrived on expressing life through song and music, my passion for singing ended after battling a whirlwind of life-changing events in 2016.
It started with losing a parent to sickness. My beloved father left this earth, and a part of my soul went with him. And so my journey to soothe my grief began.
Following the passing of my father, I also lost the music I loved to sing. Diagnosed with thyroid cancer and surgery resulted in partial but permanent vocal cord paralysis, which silenced my voice.
But hey, this isn’t another cancer sob story or a woeful tale of never-ending saga. Rather, this is my story of recovery, discovery, and re-emergence.
From devastation comes life, light and strength. The flame of creativity brought me alive and dimmed my pain and grief, and so Fluid Art inc was born.
With a cup of layered paint in my hand and a mirage of colour pouring straight onto canvas, each layer of paint represents an emotion, a subconscious part of my being. In a way, each layer of paint has become a line in the song of my life.
Fluid art became much more than a hobby: it brought me back to the source of my power and my ability to heal my heart and express my emotions. Fluid art liberated the inner voice that I believed was lost but has now become louder than ever.
I’ve learned that vulnerability can be expressed without shame through art. When you see my heart and song on a canvas, your heart will respond with its own harmony.
My mother is a significant part of my story. It is her strength I have called upon to weather the storms that life sometimes throws at you. Whilst she lives with an incurable illness, she has incredible mental strength. In these golden years of her life, I am her voice, ears and physical strength, whilst she remains my spiritual rock.
Formerly, an international art business student of Ann Rea, founder of Making Art, Making Money, who is renowned for teaching artists how to survive in the twenty first century and sending the myth of the ‘poor artist’ back into the past. I stand on the shoulders of her legacy.
There is a place for you in the world of fluid art. Now I’m calling your inner artist to emerge, speak your truth, and be seen and heard.
The rebel in me seeks the rebel in you, and together we will awaken your inner warrior through fluid art.
Let our journey begin!
